military parade on the Champs Elysées in front of the French
President. On the
evening of the 14th, there are public dances in the street and fireworks.

Start of the long summer holidays.
The departure to every coast and on holidays. Julyists start their month holiday and their travels on July 1. This is followed by their return and the simultaneous departure of the Augustites on July 31. Millions of cars on the highways on the same day and traffic jams hundreds of km in length!
